Currently the only licensed residential teen pregnancy shelter in the state of Ohio, providing critical services to homeless and at-risk pregnant or parenting teens, ages 14-21, and their babies. The Highlands has capacity for five mothers and five babies at a time, in which the pair is invited to stay for up to three years after the baby is born, or until the mother turns 21.
Services provided include:
Residential care for up to three years or until the baby turns three
Individual and family counseling
Parenting/independent living skills courses
Educational/recreation activities for mother and baby
Assistance enrolling in school, applying for work, and securing safe and stable housing
